These skateboarding pictures were shot by a young man in 1979 and printed by an old man in 2020. In fact, I shot these pictures back in 1979 at Skatopia skatepark in Buena Park California. At the present time, (yesterday to be more exact) I printed some images from my days at Skatopia. Generally speaking, I was a young man when I shot them and an old man when I printed them.

Sims team rider Tony Howlet, Tail Tap, Skatopia Half Pipe

The negative held up well over the 41 years. And were stored in a southern California garage, under less than archival conditions. The camera was a used Nikkormat kit that I purchased from Chuck Lantz at Skatopia. And later sold it to Alfreda Reyes. I believe Alfredo still has this kit.

Yesterday I decided to print some old Skatopia pictures near the end of my darkroom session.
