I've been skating since 1975 but never had the opportunity to skate Skatopia. I skated Del Mar most of the time if not ditches, ramps, and banks and curbs. I did skate Skate City ASPO in 1982 and watched the Whittier Christmas Classic where Stevie won. I read Thrasher religiously and through the pics and stories, I felt like I knew the locals at both parks. Richard Armijo and John Lucero were punk. I love the history this site conjures. Keep it up. Unfortunately, I could not see the pics. Any way of finding out where all the locals went? Take it easy and keep shreddin Danny Pena San Diego

Man it's been a long time. Great site Ken. Toby, what's up? i still talk to Tony Howlett and Bob. Everybody seems to be doing pretty good. I'm a math teacher now. Jason Lafaay?? How's Budda!!!!! Does anybody remeber the food place across the street we used to go before McDonalds was there? I don't really skate anymore, although I did have a skate shop from 1987 - 1992, called Skate Cafe. Now, I mainly just ride motocross. I have been contemplating build a 12' wide half pipe in backyard. There was some talk of a reunion?

I remember my brother Mike and Jim Brewer talking about the Baldy Pipeline...apparently the place still exists and is skateable... anybody skate there back in the day?
